I remember my trip two years ago, to San Francisco. I took a cab to this bridge while my sister was on a conference call.
I stood there for about two hours, looking down, people watching, and wondering how far down the water was.
A girl sat next to me, and asked me, “You’re not going to jump„ are you?”
I smiled and reassured her I wasn’t. That I was just a tourist.
She then said, “You look a lot like my sister. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable. But I had to ask, can I hug you? You just look so much like her.”
I felt awkward at first, but then I realized. “She jumped?”
This girl’s face just crumpled, and she started crying. I hugged her, without a second thought, and for some reason I apologized. Not sure what else I could say.
She goes, “Those were the last words she ever spoke to me.”
And I will never forget this girl, her name was Ariana.

This is my friend Brandon on the day of our Prom, he looks fine right?Brandon was born with a condition called Cystic Fibrosis, which affects the lungs, pancreas, liver, and intestine. Before I even met Brandon he had already undergone a double lung transplant, and more surgery operations than most people can imagine. He is one of the strongest people I have ever met and even with his condition, makes sure he lives the same quality of life as any other 19 and 20 year old’s I know. All throughout high school he showed up many of the guys on the hockey team and proved that his condition didn’t slow him down one bit. He won numerous athletic awards at our athletic banquets and as you can see, looked pretty damn handsome at our prom May 2011. Due to Brandon’s worsening condition his lungs are filling up with mucus and his sinuses are becoming blocked. Brandon is in dire need of a new pair of lungs for the second time in his life, but is stuck on a waiting list filled with many others just like him. Today I am attending the Toronto Blue Jays game with Brandon and his best friend Mike. While Mike, myself and probably 99% of the approximate 30,000 people that are at the game watch and celebrate with the help of one of the most important organs in our bodies (our lungs), Brandon will be hooked up to his Oxygen tank fighting for each breath that he takes. (For Canada) When you get your licence PLEASE , for Brandon and everyone else who suffers from this horrific condition, fill out the small card that they provide you that registers you as an organ donor when you pass away. (For Everywhere Else) Go to Google, and find out how you can register yourself as a donor. No-one deserves to drown to death, so PLEASE become a lifesaver and use your organs to save those who need them most.Thank you for taking the time to listen.
